Kinesiology muscle testing

Many people who come for kinesiology sessions are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or simply not quite themselves. Sometimes they know exactly what is troubling them. Sometimes they only know that they are struggling to cope in the way they usually would.

If you're considering kinesiology for the first time, you may be wondering what actually happens during a session.

In my practice, sessions combine two things: exploring what is happening in your life right now, and working with the body's response to that stress. We begin with a conversation about what feels most important or challenging at the moment. From there, we use gentle kinesiology techniques to help calm the nervous system and support the body's natural capacity to regain balance.

This article will walk you through the process so you know what to expect before your first appointment.

What Happens in a Kinesiology Session

Your first kinesiology session in my Beaconsfield practice begins with a conversation. We talk about what’s happening in your life, what’s working well, and what feels off balance. If you’re unsure where to start, don’t worry. I can help you clarify a direction.

Then we move to the treatment table (you stay fully clothed). I use gentle muscle monitoring to assess where stress or imbalance may be held. From there, I draw on a wide range of methods to bring the system back into alignment:

  • Energetic healing methods — balancing chakras and meridians using acupressure points.

  • Kinesiology brain integration (LEAP) — helping the brain communicate effectively across different regions.

  • Jungian psychological insights — exploring symbols, archetypes, and inner patterns that influence emotions and behaviour.

  • Counselling perspective — drawing on my graduate diploma in counselling to support you in seeing things from new, empowering angles.

  • Meditation and self-inquiry practices — helping the nervous system relax and the mind integrate new awareness.

  • Astrological insight — occasionally, when relevant, exploring life dilemmas from an astrological point of view to understand timing and meaning.

The mix of these approaches depends entirely on what you need that day. Some sessions feel gentle and soothing; others bring sudden “aha” moments. My role is to hold the space, listen, and help your body and psyche reconnect their natural dialogue.

And yes — sessions can also be offered in Russian for those who feel more comfortable working in their native language. Кинезиология на русском

What You Might Feel During (and After) a Kinesiology Session

Most people describe their kinesiology session as deeply relaxing. You may feel tingling sensations, warmth, or subtle energy shifts. Sometimes emotions arise briefly and then pass, leaving a sense of lightness and clarity.

After the session, people often report:

  • A calmer nervous system and clearer thinking

  • Reduced physical tension or pain

  • Improved sleep or digestion

  • Emotional release or inner peace

  • New insights about personal or relationship patterns

Each person’s response is unique. Healing doesn’t always happen in a straight line, but the process tends to bring you back into harmony with yourself. If you’re curious about the deeper, long-term effects, you can read client experiences on my [link: testimonials] page.

What Kinesiology Can Help With

Kinesiology can be supportive in a wide range of issues, such as:

You don’t have to know exactly what your “issue” is. Curiosity is a good enough start.

Preparing for Your First Kinesiology Session in Fremantle

You don’t need to do anything elaborate to prepare. Just come as you are — curious, open, and willing to explore. If you like, you can spend a few quiet minutes reflecting on what you’d most like to change or understand. For some inspiration, you can read my article on this - How to Set a Powerful Goal for Your Kinesiology Session.

On a practical note:

  • Wear comfortable clothes and bring reading glasses if you use them.

  • If you’ve had recent medical tests, bring the results — they can add context.

  • Most importantly, give yourself permission to take this time for you.

How Many Sessions Will You Need?

This depends on your goal and how deeply you want to work. Some people come for a few sessions to address a specific issue, while others continue regularly as part of ongoing self-care. I often say: one session can clear the fog, but a few sessions can change the weather pattern. You’re always in charge of the pace.

What Makes My Approach Unique

Over the years, I’ve worked with many clients and also mentored kinesiology students. My approach combines body-based energy balancing with psychological depth and counselling understanding. I’m particularly interested in how the body and the psyche communicate — how symptoms, emotions, and beliefs form one story. This integrative way of working means you can expect both gentle energetic shifts and clear, practical insights that help you in everyday life.
